Recognizing that eyes change over time, our office understands what it means to maintain your eyes. However, many eye diseases and problems can be prevented with annual eye exams - it is important to visit a professional yearly because many common eye diseases and have very few or do not show any warning signs until they have caused damage.

To our clients who are over the age of 50, we recommend that you have a comprehensive eye exam every year to check for common-age related problems including: glaucome, cataracts, macular degeneration and presbyopia.

A few reasons to have an annual eye exam:

1. To detect and prevent eye disease
With yearly check-ups we have the opportunity to find and identify any serious problems or diseases that may be starting. Regular exams help your doctors to monitor and maintain your vision, because once your vision is lost there is no way to restore it.

2. To uncover diseases that may be effecting your body, not just your eyes
There are many experts who believe that you can detect diseases through eye symptoms that effect other parts of your body. These can include high blood pressure, diabetes, strokes, brain tumors, kidney problems, multiple sclerosis and many other conditions. Having a year eye exam could help to detect these issues at an early stage.

A check up with your eye doctor may be able to help you relieve your daily headaches by simply switching up your prescription, or if you currently do not have glasses or contacts, maybe you do now! Our team will be able to assess the best course of action to help you with your headaches - if it is vision related.
