About Dr. Chris Hampton

Dr. Hampton  received his Bachelors and Masters degrees simultaneously from Johns Hopkins University, after which he earned his MD from the University of Connecticut. During medical school he completed a fellowship through the NIH’s prestigious Medical Research Scholars Program, where he worked on research focusing on ocular tissue engineering, for which he has been published. He then went on to complete his residency at the State University of New York in Brooklyn where he worked with under-served patients and gained experience treating a variety of diverse pathology. During residency he was selected as Chief Resident, and was awarded the E. Clifford Lazzaro MD Award for Excellence in Teaching. He subsequently went on to the University of Pittsburgh where he completed his fellowship in cornea, external diseases, and refractive surgery, where he gained experience in numerous refractive procedures and was certified in ICL surgery. At the University of Pittsburgh, among all fellows within the department of Ophthalmology, he was honored to receive the Outstanding Clinical Fellow of the Year Award.

Upon completion of his training, he was excited to join Dr. Tom Campbell MD and Dr. Tony Allen MD in Wheat Ridge Colorado.  He prides himself in offering the most advanced technologies and compassionate patient centered care for comprehensive and cornea conditions.

In his free time, he enjoys running, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, traveling, and trying new restaurants and has loved living in Colorado.
